Liverpool’s FA Women’s Cup fixture away to Chelsea has been moved to Monday night as a precaution due to Storm Dennis arrival this weekend.
The fifth round tie was due to take place on Sunday with a 12.30pm kick-off but due to expected extreme weather conditions – similar to last weekend – Chelsea have worked with the FA and Liverpool to reschedule this match the following day.
Storm Dennis arrives a week after Storm Ciara saw the postponement of an entire round of Women’s Super League games including Liverpool’s Merseyside Derby trip to Everton at Goodison Park.
The reason for the change is due to supporter and staff safety as the game will kick off now at Kingsmeadow at 7pm on Monday evening.
All tickets already sold for the game will remain valid. Tickets are still on sale for the rearranged game, priced £9 for adults and £1 for children and over.
Any supporters no longer able to attend can secure a refund via the Stamford Bridge ticket office by posting tickets back by 5pm on Monday February 24.
The game was set to be broadcast on the BBC Red Button however it will now show Arsenal’s clash with Lewes instead.
