Well I thoroughly enjoyed that. Great to see a mix of youth, fringe and experienced players get some game time and to play with rhythm and fluidity. I’ll be careful how I phrase this but I was particularly excited to see some of the youngsters – they are highly thought of and it has been hard for them to find regular game time.Anyway, into the next round of the carrier bag cup.Kelleher – 9Outstanding for me, did everything required of him and more. Great distribution, confident playing with his feet, crucial saves when needed and quick off his line. I’ll ignore the handball. Was funny though.Hoever – 8Well first off, what a goal. Leapt like a salmon to secure the win when the game was still undecided. Like many of the other youngsters he played without fear and full of confidence, so encouraging going forward. Solid defensively too.Lovren – 7Could be easy to slate Lovren after his first half brain fart but he more than made up for in it my opinion. A goal line clearance and a few last second challenges were important tonight. He showed why he is forth choice in both a positive and negative way.Gomez – 8Gets an 8 partly because Lovren got a 7 and he was better. We are spoilt with defenders at the moment and it was imperative to see him have a good game tonight. Hasn’t been affected by being 3rd choice so far this season.Milner – 10Created lots during that game and should have had more goals and assists to his name tonight. And that’s my only criticism if there is one. Got bored with providing and just twatted one at the ‘keeper who went full Karius. His passing, decision making and game management was superb. Big Ribena tonight.Lallana – 7Hard to judge, Cruyff turn, Lallana. I’m not entirely, Cruyff turn, sure where I stand with him. Good to get some, Cruyff turn, game time under his belt too and he didn’t, Cruyff turn, really do anything wrong. He will be, Cruyff turn, be needed during this season so important minutes for him.Cruyff turn.

Keita – 6.5Nothing too extravagant from Naby tonight but it didn’t need to be. Vital minutes under his belt after coming back from injury and hopefully the end of his problems. Nice touches and link up play.Oxlade-Chamberlain – 7Ahhhh I’d have lost my pants if that had gone in you know. Goalkeeper absolutely throws it in for Milner but then denies Chambo another “HE CAN HIT ONE” moment. Bit selfish really. Good to build on all the good work he has been doing.Jones – 8No fear again from Jones. Desperately unlucky not to score or assist tonight. Always on the turn, on the front foot and looking to penetrate the opposition.Elliott – 9Haven’t been this excited about a 16 year old since Holly Valance started on Neighbours. I was 12 at the time, so it’s fine. Honestly. It’s fine. Not entirely sure how he didn’t score either, hit the post a few times and that build up play for the Milner chance deserved a goal – nutmegged someone, sent someone else for a hot dog and placed a beautifully placed ball onto t’Yorkshiremans t’hed.Cannot wait to see what else he has in his locker.Brewster – 7Another one that came so close to scoring. Took his time to grow into the game but that is only natural. In the end he was probably undone by the creativity or maybe even his placement. Have to give credit to MK Dons though, they defended very well.
SubsChirivella – 6He’s been at the club for 34 years now and that’s possibly the first time I’ve set eyes on him. Will see hi in another 5 years or so.Kane – N/A Only on for a few minutes.Van Den Berg – N/AOnly on for a few minutes.Let me know your thoughts on the game below!Ross – @rossic89
