Well hello there. Been a while this hasn’t it. You know how this goes, I make a few comments on Liverpool players and you get angry because you don’t agree with a number which is just in fact my opinion.

OR

We can eulogise about Liverpool being back, fans being back in stadiums, Virgil van Dijk playing football, a clean sheet, no injures, goals for Mo, Jota & Bobby and we can all just be realllly, really happy about things again, yeah? Yeah.

My summary of that is the classic ‘professional away win’. Not gung-ho, not reckless, not ‘heavy metal football, just professional. And that’s all it needed to be. Maybe not the most entertaining in parts but are we really that arsed? I am not. I am very happy!

Remember these are just opinions. Don’t worry about it. Make your own minds up. My thoughts don’t mean anything.

Alisson – 8

DEAR LORD! WTF was that at the end? Slipped into full Matrix mode to deny anyone and everyone. Had fuck all to do all game and then just comes up with that. The sign of a world class goalie. Delia will be fuming into late night scone later.

Trent – 7.5

A busy afternoon for Trent, wasn’t quite given the licence to roam forward. Rashica kept him occupied or certainly gave him something to think about. As always, going forward he is always a threat with 3 key passes during the game!

Van Dijk – 8

Please excuse me for a moment while I just fawn over this man. He’s a leader, he’s dominant and it’s irrelevant but he’s beautiful. Guided other players through the game, won his aerial battles and sprayed the ball wherever he wanted. I’m SO happy to see him back.

Matip – 8

Says a lot when I’m happy both our CB’s are playing 90 minutes. Joel is no different. Much like Virg, he provided long passes to both flanks and forwards, performed admirably defensively and then did some mad shit when he chested the ball in their box.

Tsimikas – 7.5

You know what. I really like him. Full of confidence, not afraid to get forward, his delivery is frightening! Maybe a little work needed on his defensive play and positioning but that can only get better. He’s given me confidence too heading into the next few games.  He had six minutes of PL football before this, he deserves a bit of credit!

Milner – 6.5

Listen, it’s not ideal having him at DM. It’s not ideal for you, for me and probably not for him. Fabs hasn’t had much of a pre season so it makes sense. Norwich gave it their all and were playing high energy, intense football. He’s 36. It can’t be easy.

Keita – 7

He’s so noticeable in the press. He works tirelessly all over the show, he doesn’t want to give anyone a second on the ball. Again, not really a compliment, but it is, 83 minutes played. All I’ve seen over the past few weeks is “be lucky to get 2 minutes from him” – well we have, he’s here and we need to make the most of him.

Ox – 6

If we’re being honest, that wasn’t the Ox we saw on Monday night. And maybe that’s not entirely his fault. The midfield selection was a bit odd. Had a few wild shots, was impressed with his tracking back and defensive work but 60 mins in the tank in an intense game will do him wonders.

Mané – 8

Sadiooooo! Looks back to being the business doesn’t he. A constant threat, worked tirelessly. Selfless at times. He’ll see that Jota, Bobby and Mo all scored, obviously, but that will only fore him up more and I am here for it.

Salah – 10

I really don’t care, I’m very much saying he meant that first assist and there’s nothing you can do about it. Not content with that he went and got another selfless assist for Bobby and bagged himself a goal AND it could have been more. ONE SEASON WONDER MY ARSE!

Jota – 8

Bit scrappy for Diogo in parts but in others…WOW. Could have had an early contention for goal of the season if Todd hadn’t tried to kick his leg off. Happy for him to get himself a goal, nearly scored a header and he’s competing in and with the other lads up top! BOSS!

Bobby – 8

OH MY BOBBY IS BACK. I Don’t care if I’m getting carried away. I know it’s not even been two full games with him. Perhaps not even one full game. He’s up for it. You can see it. He thrives off the fans, he thrives off having a big rest and I just love him

Fabinho – N/A

Half an hour under his belt is more important than his performance. Didn’t start due to lack of pre season and game time but we found a way to get him in today. Some nice long balls, and defensively sound. Happy days.

Elliott – N/A

Played about ten mins.
