It’s finally here. The EFL Cup. The biggest games of the season. While not quite true, Liverpool’s depth (when not injured) has a genuine chance of winning the competition this time around.
Norwich should look to field a weakened side with their priority on remaining in the Premier League, and it’s a chance for some of the Reds fringe players to get valuable minutes.

Here’s how we should line up:
Kelleher starts in goal behind a changed back four. Neco Williams misses out due to injury which allows Gomez to get some minutes at right-back. Of course, the attacking side of his game isn’t at the level of Trent or Milner, but there will be no questions over keeping Norwich quiet on the night.
Milner starts from the six, unleashing the return of Keita and Ox in midfield. Pep Lijnders revealed Curtis Jones will play his 50th game for the club at just 20-years-old, and I think it would be best to play him from the left for this one. Alternatively, Klopp’s other option is to put Origi there with Ox as the false nine.
Minamino comes in for Salah in a tournament where the Japan international can hopefully have a significant impact. Similar to the likes of Fabinho and Keita, it may just be a case of settling in for Taki.
The Reds could have a tough night ahead if the Canaries decide to play their strongest XI, but it’s likely both sides will be prioritising games at the weekend on Tuesday night.
Score prediction: Norwich City 1 – 3 Liverpool
