Well that was quite the come down from Sunday wasn’t it?
However, a very mixed side, lots of changes and a lot of youth players maybe I should be a bit more grateful and respectful. Wasn’t entertaining or easy to watch but we got the job done. No injuries and plenty of players rested. I’m fine with that.
It’s not high on my list of things to win but it’s important for the players like Taki, Origi etc to get game time and others who are on the fringes. Good for them.
Anyway, no wild ratings tonight as you’ll probably guess.
Adrain – 7
Two big saves during that game. For all the stick, for all the nerves I think you have to give credit where it’s due. He came in, did his job and kept a clean sheet.
Williams – 8
Took one in the face and bagged himself an assist moments after moving to right wing. Then he attempted a shot which fell to Origi who did the rest!

Matip – 6
Came off at HT. Can’t say he did much. Proper boring first half that. Pretty sure he did a no look pass to Gomez at one point. Not sure why. Also, thank god that was a pre planned sub.
Gomez – 6
To be honest, I think he’s had much better games. Lucky to not go 1-0 down after he gave the ball away. Doesn’t look 100% and it’s understandable to be honest.
Tsimikas – 6
Was ok, got himself into some really good positions and was either unlucky or wild with the final ball.
Morton – 7
Tell you what, that was a great ball to Neco for the first goal you know. Assist to the assist if you will. In fact, most of his long balls were decent. 4/5 to be precise.

Jones – 7
Tell you what mate, you see that little spell where he basically turned into Ronaldinho for a few seconds? One of the highlights of the game, a very dull game mind. But still, SKILLZ.
Curtis Jones, you filthy little bastard. pic.twitter.com/GJvcvdHM0C

Ox – 7
Could use the caveat of the squad being mixed up but could also say he’s one of the senior players, playing in the preferred position and needing to step up. Besides a thunder-bastard that just went wide, he didn’t really do much. I can’t fault him trying though.
Taki – 7
Really quiet game, nothing happening or working for him in the first half. But credit to him, he stuck at it and he reaped the rewards and took his goal really well.
Blair – 5
I’ll be honest, I was expecting something a little more from someone I’ve not really seen. Which is unfair from me. But the front 3 was a bit disjointed really. Not really his fault.
Origi – 7
Did nothing all game. Drifted in and out, didn’t really get involved. Then BAM. One piece of nonchalant filth and the game is done.
SUBS.
Bradley – 5
Decent 35 minutes under his belt, but, like many others, nothing really of note.
Nat Phillips – 6
45 minutes, 3 clearances and won 2/3 aerial duels. Nat Phillips doing Nat Phillips things.
Owen Beck – N/A
Only played the last few minutes
Elijah Dixon-Bonner – N/A
Only played the last few minutes
