Article by Lauren Black @Lauren_Black9 This Tuesday Liverpool will face Paris St Germain in our first game of the 2018/19 Champions League season and there is no better way to kick it off then under the lights at Anfield against France’s best team. Both teams have a 100%-win record so far this season which makes it interesting and PSG have won by large margins so far this season with them scoring three or more goals in every one of their games so far. Of course they have fantastic players with the likes of Neymar, Mbappe, Cavani, Silva, Marquinhos, Veratti but they also added goalkeeper Buffon to their side in the summer which strengthens them even more. How could PSG line up? In terms of their record against us we have only played against them twice and that was back in 1997/98 in the Cup Winner’s cup semi-final. They won the first leg 3-0 and we won the second leg 2-0 meaning they then went on to play in the final, so this is the first time we have played against them in 21 years so it will be an interesting match. Below are their latest stats from the most recent league game against St Etienne Star PlayerSo this is a section where I pick out a star player from the opposition side and talk about how they can cause us problems in the game. Well, this week I could not pick just one player so I decided to go for three and there is no surprise who they are; Cavani, Mbappe and Neymar. These three are just incredible and have shown why they are regarded as some of the best players in the world. All three of them were nominated for Player of the Season in the French league last year with Neymar taking the trophy. In total last season, Neymar scored 19 goals in 20 games before getting injured, Kylian Mbappe then added 13 goals into the mix with Ederson Cavani scoring 25 and picking up the golden boot. We all know that these three are going to be a threat but if I had to pick out of three who would cause the most trouble I would probably go with Mbappe. He’s quick, agile, can ue both feet, is clever on the ball and just runs at the defence which can be troubling at times but then again if Van Dijk shoves him of the ball like he did in the Netherlands vs France game then we should be fine.  Manager – Thomas TuchelIn terms of his record against Liverpool he has only managed two matches and that was back in 2015 when we faced Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Europa League. The first leg was in Germany with that game finishing 1-1 and the second leg being that unforgettable night at Anfield when Dejan Lovren scored that header to send us through to the semi-final. In terms of his record against Jurgen Klopp, they have played each other twelve times with Tuchel winning one, drawing three and losing eight so I would say we have a pretty good chance of winning on Tuesday. He became manager of PSG this summer and has a 100% win record so far and he won his first trophy when they beat Monaco 4-0 in the Trophee des Champions (equivalent to our community shield). So you could say he has had a pretty good start to life in France and I’m sure he will continue to lead them in the right direction. Let us know your score predictions and who you would pick out of Cavani, Mbappe and Neymar as the one to watch.Article by Lauren Black @Lauren_Black9 Want more LFC content?
