It is November 25th, and The Redmen TV would like to wish a very happy 40th birthday to a key part of The Best Midfield in the World, Mr. Xabi Alonso.
Xabi arrived at Anfield on the same day as fellow Spaniard Luis Garcia, with both players featuring heavily in Liverpool’s famous run to victory in the 2005 Champions League.
Alonso is one of the most decorated footballers in world football, with a host of honours at club and international level. One of the key figures of the Benitez era, Alonso wowed fans with his passing ability and calmness on the ball. Steven Gerrard has described him as the best midfielder he ever played with.
