It is November 3rd and Liverpool have a tricky Champions League tie against Atletico Madrid to negotiate this evening. The reverse fixture was a classic at the Wanda Metropolitano, with Liverpool eventually coming out on top 3-2.
Liverpool have a long history of ties against Spanish clubs, going all the way back to 1968. The Reds have played Spanish clubs in European finals several times, such as their European Cup success against Real Madrid in 1981.
