A promising debut by Luis Diaz and all-round dominant performance shows Liverpool might just be finding their best form at the perfect time, and that will be vital as we gear up for a title race that we can take down to the wire.

Diaz could only have started his Premier League debut better if he capped it with a goal, though it’s clear to see that he will be a player that gets plenty of minutes under Jurgen Klopp. For the Burnley game, it’s another chance to test which of the front three setups he will look best in, and he has a chance to play on his favoured left side this time around.

Here’s how we should line up:

Klopp should look to build momentum in defence, and the towering Wout Weghorst who looks like he would have been a reasonable option for Liverpool will need to be watched out for. Matip and Virgil will be important for that.

Fitness concerns could see Thiago rested here after only just returning from injury, but if he’s ready, he should start this one. The Fabinho-Thiago combination is our tried and tested method, though we should look to replace him around the hour mark. if the Reds can get off to a good lead. Jordan Henderson could start here, but I think he would be best used from the bench for this one. Harvey Elliott’s recent return from injury also is noteworthy – but let’s not rush him back into too many games when we don’t need to.

A deep Burnley line means we need Diogo Jota through the middle for this one. That means that Luis Diaz gets to play from his favoured left side, with Mohamed Salah completing the lineup on the right flank.

Firmino, Mane and Elliott on the bench provide plenty of attacking threat should Klopp need to use them.

While Burnley have shown they can get results against some sides in the top half, Liverpool’s squad depth is now on par with Manchester City, and that means we should comfortably secure all three points if we are to have any hope of climbing back into 1st position in the league.

Score prediction: Burnley 0 – 3 Liverpool
