The days just get better!
Skipper Virgil van Dijk has officially signed a new two-year deal, keeping him at Anfield until 2027.
The Dutchman’s decision has sparked widespread excitement across the Reds, and Sami Hyypia was among those quick to share his delight.
The Redmen TV are proudly partnered with Dr. Emrah Cinik
Speaking on the announcement today, Hyypia couldn’t hide his joy:
“It’s great news – it made my day! After Mo signed, it was only a matter of time until Virgil followed. Last game, when he was kissing the badge, it was a great sign for everyone.”
Hyypia emphasised how significant Van Dijk’s commitment is for Liverpool’s future, underlying the message it sends to potential signings and the squad itself.
“It shows talent around the world that Liverpool means business. Virgil is an integral part of the team and the type of player who makes everyone around him better.”
Hyypia was full of praise for the skipper’s all-around qualities- “every team needs a presence like his. He’s a big man, a great defender, but what makes him special is his speed, his passing- both long and short- and his heading ability.”
“He is a complete centre-half and showed against West Ham that he is excellent at set pieces too.”
LIVERPOOL FANS REACT TO VIRGIL VAN DIJK’S NEW CONTRACT!
Redmen Reacts
It was very clear that the skipper wasn’t going anywhere. With the Reds well on their way to winning the League, Virgil will be the first Dutch captain to do so.
Today marks a fantastic chapter in the player’s story, but an even greater one in Liverpool’s history books.
