Massive game that and a huge three points. We will have more games like that during the season and I’m just pleased I am sat here talking about a win. I was struggling to think where a goal might come from after several clear cut chances were missed. Anyway, we are top of the league and haven’t dropped any points, the performance will soon be forgotten.Sheffield United Will Cause ProblemsAs much as it has been a pain to watch and I need a change of underpants, on reflection we should be pretty happy with that. As fans we don’t always want to credit the opposition but I feel we have to today. They were well organised, put in a shift and stumped Liverpool for large periods of the game. Yes, we were lucky to win but many other teams won’t be. More importantly teams around us.I say teams around us, the gap is getting bigger by the week but you know what a mean. Other teams won’t be so lucky. Sheffield United will take confidence from that. They’v already drawn with Chelsea so they will think they are capable of anything.

Adrian I’ve not really had my say on Adrian so I want to give my two pence worth. After being chucked in at the deep end at the start of the season and he has just cracked on since. We talk so much about synergy and having good rhythm and relationships and he’s settled in perfectly. If it all goes tits up after this it has nothing to do with me.I thought he was on it again today. Ok he flapped at one but nothing that made me concerned going forward. It’s his all round game for me but what should be considered basics for goalkeepers – distribution, punching, crossing and his decision making. Not afraid to come off his line when required and always looking to get the next attack going.Fair play to him.Liverpool ride their luck againNot so much something we learnt this one but I’ll be honest I am struggling to find something else to pick out after that game, if you have any ideas please let me know in the comments below. As a Liverpool fan you’ll have seen this game a million times in your head and in real life and it ends up differently. And so does your mood. Low block sides have been an issue for Liverpool for years and we seem to have put that demon to bed once again. Usually it’s Burnley or someone like that. As I mentioned in the top of the article Sheffield United played well, give them credit. But give it to Liverpool too. Yes I know it wasn’t the football we love to watch, yes it was frustrating we sometimes we have to adapt our game too.In the early stages of the Newcastle game I was left annoyed with the pace of the build up play, the lack of urgency and lack of penetration, it was very much the same today. But isn’t that something we have taken from all those years of being fucked off at games in which we had 23 shots at goal and lost? Is our play more methodical, more composed (not today at times)? We used to rush things, to force the ball into busy areas where as now we are happy to keep it, to wear down the opposition and wait for that lapse of concentration. It may be a wild thought but I’m throwing it out there.Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!Up The Reds@rossic89
