Should the Premier League or the UCL Be a Priority for Liverpool Next Season?

April confirmed it: Liverpool officially clinched the title of the Premier League for the 20th time in the club’s history after an absolutely dominant season. Although Arsenal was a close contender and there were some scary moments at times, the 10-point gap after the final game of the season is a clear indication of the levels the two teams were operating on.

Say all you want about Jurgen Klopp leaving. There was no real adjustment period for Arne Slot. He has absolutely smashed the season, and Liverpool are performing better than ever.

But with Mo Salah staying and Trent Alexander-Arnold leaving and rumours of Bayer Leverkusen’s Wirtz potentially signing, will Slot focus on the Premier League or the Champions League? Read on to find out.

The 2025/26 Premier League

Next season should be interesting. Liverpool has already made some great signings – Giorgi Mamardashvili joining this summer after the agreed deal last summer – but not as many big moves as other clubs. There are some rumours that could turn out to be interesting, like the Wirtz rumours, but nothing is confirmed.

One player who is confirmed and will be interesting to watch is the defensive midfielder Stefan Bajcetic from UD Las Palmas, who will likely help fill the boots of the departing Trent Alexander-Arnold.

And the competition for the 2024/25 season was tight until the latter part. For a long time, it was close between Arsenal and Liverpool before Liverpool eventually charged ahead.

So, we think Slot’s focus will still be on the Premier League, but with his eyes on the Champions League prize.

The 2025/26 Champions League

Yes, of course, Arne Slot will focus on the Premier League. To win two English league titles like that in a row will be an incredible feat for his career and proves he’s the manager Liverpool needs.

But after failing to reach the final stages of the Champions League, many Liverpool fans were disappointed. The reason Liverpool FC Tickets are always in big demand is that fans know they will be watching the biggest games available. The expectation is next season, the Reds will be competing on all fronts with a squad with strong depth.

And the 2025/26 Champions League is already set to be an incredible competition, with most of the teams that entered this year already qualified for next year. Liverpool will need to step up their game if they want to progress further in the competition.

How Did Liverpool Perform in the 2024/25 Champions League?

Well, they did well, but not well enough. Even though they’ve had an incredible campaign in the Premier League, nobody can deny that it didn’t sting a little to not get as far as expected in the Champions League.

Liverpool had a great start, as was to be expected, but got knocked out in the round of 16 before even making it to the quarter finals.

It was gutting, and for that reason, if we had to say between the Premier League and the Champions League, we think Slot and his team will go harder for the win of the prestigious Champions League.

What do you think? Do you want Liverpool to have more of an attacking campaign in the Champions League and risk tiring the players for the Premier League, or do you think it should be equal? It’ll be interesting to see how the team performs next year!
