Righto then. A replay it is. Fabinho, Lovren and Matip haven’t turned shite over night and they won’t be in the future. They are all severely lacking game time and match fitness. Let’s not hang them out to dry. I know it is infuriating to watch and we all expect better but it happens. Credit to Shrewsbury, they gave us a goal and still didn’t give up. We created our own problems and were far too complacent. Sometimes you need a kick up the arse. A shame really as we could have had a decent, well deserved break, now, we go to a replay. Adrian was immense and he will feel hard done by. The youngsters also a standout again. It’s not the end of the world. It just feels like it coz we win all the time. The replay will be a chance for the same team that played today to prove their worth. Adrian – 8 Would have loved to have give him a ten, knocked down for the goals obviously. Which is a real shame after his heroics earlier in the game. He will be fuming with some of the defending there. Williams – 7 A joy to watch and I tip him to continue his rise given his recent performances. A keen eye for a pass in which he displayed wide range of skills, vision and delivery. Technically got an assist too. Matip  – 5 A 5 only because he was slightly better then Lovren. Has lacked game time due to injury and it showed. Far too complacent, sloppy and no real impetuous to do anything to the standard required. Lovren – 4 Is a 4 generous? I’m sure you’ll tell me in the comments. Went full Lovren for their second goal with an air-shot combined with being megged. NEVER go full Lovren. Like Matip a lack of match fitness/sharpness on his side but I expect much better. Larouci – 6 Decent first half, keen to get on the ball and linked up well with Chirivella, Origi and others. Went a bit AWOL in the second half, as did others. Also gave away a pen due to the confusion at the back. Car crash defending all round there. Fabinho – 6 Pains me to give him such a low score. Just all over the shop really. Passing not quite right, first touch not the best either.

Chirivella – 7 One of the standouts, which to be fair wasn’t hard given some of the shockers out there. A sublime assist for the goal and intent on getting involved, the confidence to drop deep and take responsibility. Jones – 7 A cool, calm and composed finish for the goal, went a little quieter in the second half, as did many others. Elliott – 5 Hardly got involved to be honest. Not sure if that was due to lack of supply, poor play on his half or credit to Shrewsbury. Probably combination of all that. Nothing like the player we have seen in recent months. Minamino – 6 Dropped deep in the first half to get on the ball and created a few chances and could have scored one or too himself. Won’t be too harsh, the lad is still adapting to they system, his team mates and life in England. Origi – 5 Wanted far too much time on the ball today and didn’t adapt to it at all. Got a bit more involved with ten minutes to go but pot shots from 25-yards not good enough.

Subs Ox – 6 I mean he provided some attacking threat and drive towards the goal which was severely lacking. Needs a bit longer to get going, not his fault. Firmino – N/A Played 5 mins. Salah – N/A Wasn’t on long but did have a chance to score. Can’t rate him on that though. Let me know your thoughts on the game below! Ross – @rossic89
