After weeks of speculation and Liverpool being linked to a variety of midfielders, part two of the midfield rebuild is finally complete.
Dominik Szoboszlai has made the switch from RB Leipzig to Anfield following in the footsteps of current star defender Ibrahima Konate and an injury struck time for Naby Keita.
The 22-year-old Hungarian is one of Europe’s brightest talents bringing an air of excitement and hope for the Reds to be competing on all fronts next season.
This week Dan Clubbe has been busy getting all the lowdown on the latest addition to the Anfield ranks and on the latest Transfer Insight he was joined by former LFC player and Hungarian teammate, Adam Bogdan, to find out how the famous L4 crowd will react to him alongside Jurgen Klopp.
German Football Expert On ‘Outrageous’ Dominik Szoboszlai!
Adam said:
“I think Klopp likes people with personality and the right attitude to the work and as I said it is not going to be new to him, the way German coaches operate. He doesn’t need to get used to the way German coaches weekly operations. I remember the first time he came, he started changing the training from morning to the afternoon and back and forth. For me, it was a strange one, but for him, it will be a normal thing.
“Like I said Klopp likes personalities, talent and the ones who work hard and are ready to learn. He is like that. I also think he is friends with Erling Halaand which is healthy competition from their Salzburg years. I am sure that will drive him to make sure he doesn’t win anymore and Liverpool wins everything.
“I think you love talent and I think you love talent who works hard and gives everything for the team and for the fans. The signs are really good for the fans to love him, he has a fantastic free-kick, and I know he’s got some competition from Trent and some others. He is to be trusted with free kicks and corners. You know he is only young, he is 22 don’t forget and he needs to adapt for sure. But he has the attitude and persona around him, he will love it, he will love Anfield and I am sure that the fans will love him as well.
“If it is not happening straight away like everybody wants, just give him some time to work through it but I think he is in the right structure in the right club. Having a German manager, he understands the German way of thinking. The love from the fans and the intensity in the stadium, the intensity in the games combined with the understanding of the German way of thinking is a very good combination. The signs are brilliant, it could be a really good one and I will keep my fingers crossed.”
Redmen Reacts
The 22-year-old seems to make perfect sense in every way regarding his transfer to Liverpool.
Young, exciting and eager to play under Jurgen Klopp ticks all the boxes. His versatility is also a major boost, considering Mohammed Salah’s absence in the African Cup of Nations.
With 23 G/A output last season, it is safe to say he will help solve the goalscoring midfielder issues of the past. He is the perfect step two for the midfield rebuild and will likely play where Jordan Henderson has been in the latter part of the season.
Overall, it seems the Reds have got an exciting prospect on their hands who can help them achieve their previous success under Jurgen Klopp.
