Well that was needlessly tense at the end wasn’t it! Again, not the greatest first half performance from the Reds but most importantly we came out of it with three crucial points. A lot of talk will of course be about Adrian – hero to villain in the space of a few days.
There were also some standout performances in my opinion. When the chips are down and we don’t look like creating much we are spoilt by the likes of Sadio Mané and Bobby Firmino who just seem to keep this team ticking over.
Ultimately the points are far more valuable than the performance and given we played Chelsea in midweek til abar two in the morning the other day, I think we can be pretty happy with that.
Adrian – 5
Five might seem harsh but he literally gave them a goal and heaped loads of pressure onto the team on and onto my boxers. He did make huge saves as well to be fair, lets not throw him under the bus. That close range stop in the first half was incredible.
It didn’t cost us in the end. Lets move on.
Trent – 7
Better from Trent, offensively and defensively. No one had a great game first half really which is becoming a bit of a theme. Second half he was able to meander forward and deliver some declicous balls into the box – unfortunately there was never anyone there.
Matip – 7
Sound again in large parts of the game but still looks tentative in clearing the ball. As a whole we weren’t winning second balls in the first half and there was a bit of guess work in terms of clearing our lines.
Virgil – 8
Did you see that little flick. Fuck me sideways. What a fella. Booed time after time and still he takes the piss. He was fumin with a few players in the first half and rightly so, he is trying to establish a relationship with Adrian and it didn’t always pay off.
Robbo – 7
Same a Trent really, got forward where possible and defensively he was tested yet again and had to make some last ditch tackles.
Gini – 7
As usual he does the dirty stuff, doesn’t look great, doesn’t get the plaudits but a solid job nonetheless. Getting repetitive now but out of sorts on the first half but the whole midfield was.

Ox – 7
Second half the confidence oozed out of him and we started to see glimpses of the old Oxlade-Chamberlain. Some nice touches, good link up play with Mo. Sounds soft to say but the minutes we more important today again for Ox. He put in a good shift.
Milner – 7.5
I thought Milly was immense today. He tried to cover every blade of grass and he did a terrific job, even with a bandage on. First half he was everywhere. He had to drop deep to get involved in the first.
Bobby – 9
I love the man, I really do. Scored one, should have had two really but he makes this team tick. He’s essentially a striker and a midfielder. There’s nothing this man doesn’t do the the team.
Salah – 7.5
Should have had a goal too, if I am being hyper-critical he needs to use his right foot a little more often. He makes the right runs, gets in the right place and when it comes to the crunch he seems to stab at hit with his left foot.
Can’t really complain, he’s phenomenal.
Mane – 9
Said it at the top of the ratings, this man drags Liverpool to another level. Constantly runs at the defence, never gives up and even when things aren’t going our way he’s just relentless. Top quality finish.
Hendo – N/A
Was only on a few minutes. Ran the ball into the corner.
Fabinho – 6
Not terrible but wasn’t on for long really, the rock we needed to control the game in the dying embers.
Origi – N/A
Again wasn’t on for long.
