Article by Adam Brown @AdamMNViThe mood coming into this game could have been much different if Liverpool were unable to get back to winning ways against Brighton, but Virgil van Dijk showed once again how impeccable leadership is vital to grinding results. Fortunately, injuries are beginning to clear, so a win in this game would be a huge boost, but as Palace shown against Manchester City, it won’t be easy. Atleast until the Leicester game, Dejan Lovren is going to be ruled out, but after Fabinho’s solid performances of late, he will likely be more comfortable coming into this game (especially playing at Anfield). Andy Robertson has won everyone over since joining the club. Many fans (including me) preferred the idea of signing Sead Kolasinac on a free to solve Liverpool’s left-back options, but Jurgen Klopp showed once again why he is the master of the transfer market. Hopefully he can mark his new deal with a goal. Palace are going to look to hit us on the break as usual, which means that control in the midfield is important; this may mean sacrificing the chance of a 5-0 win, but if it improves the overall chances of a win, let’s do it; Henderson, Wijnaldum and Keita are the midfield three. The front three remains unchanged. Overall, had Michael Edwards not strengthened in the summer with some expert negotiating, we would be in much worse shape. We’re using our squad’s depth to the max (hopefully for the last game this season before options start to comeback). Should Liverpool be able to show a degree of control and, ideally, score in the first half, the result should come naturally.
