By Adam Brown – @AdamMNVi We’re back! The Premier League has finally returned after a drought of football which has felt everlasting at times. Three months without any football to truly get behind has shown just how indispensable the game is to society. Talks of null and void provided a last inch of hope to those unable to bear a league title returning to Anfield, but now it’s back to the reality of closing an insurmountable gap. Liverpool have been phenomenal this season – voiding the campaign or ending as champions after 29 games would have been unjust, now it’s time to finish the job – there will be no asterisk after all!

A trip to Goodison Park restarts the Reds campaign in a match which will feel surreal without the atmosphere and is something which will play into Liverpool’s hands as Klopp returns to the dugout. The Reds suffered three defeats in four games before the season was halted, including the only loss of the Premier League campaign against Watford. Given the nature of the circumstances, it’s unlikely any club will be at full sharpness right away which will lead to more variance in the results of the remaining games. This will play into Liverpool’s hands who need just two wins to secure the Premier League title.

Here’s how we should line up: Opportunities for fringe players will come in the later games, now is about getting the title secured as soon as possible. Of course, the Reds showed in the FA Cup that we don’t need to play our best XI against Everton, but Klopp will be looking to join the centurions with Liverpool requiring just 18 points from 27 available. Alisson starts in goal behind our best back four this season. Henderson anchors in the six behind Wijnaldum and Keita. Naby looked sharp against Blackburn and should feature in a game where Klopp will look to be more attacking. The famous front three return. The new five substitutions rule means plenty of rotation throughout the game which should see the likes of Takumi Minamino and Curtis Jones introduced at some stage. It’s hard to see past a Liverpool win in this one. The hostile Goodison Park crowd have had an impact on the game in previous encounters, but a quiet stadium will only fall into the hands of the team with more skill and technical class at their disposal.
