Article by Adam Brown AdamMNViAfter yet another disappointing away performance in the Champions League took place on Wednesday, it’s time for Liverpool to prepare for a defining fortnight in the season. While Everton fans are still likely to be celebrating PSG’s victory, there’s an air of frustration around Jurgen Klopp’s side, with many players quotes heading into this game indicating that the Reds are ready to bounce back. Now would be the time to produce a dominating performance, a win which could provide the catalyst for some form heading into the Christmas fixtures – particularly for the most important game of the season against Napoli. While Lovren has looked good in the majority of games he has played, Gomez is a better option for some games, especially where an opponent has pace in attack. At least until after the Champions League match, Klopp needs to decide on a settled back four. At fullback, Trent Alexander-Arnold is most effective, able to offer more going forward than Gomez in terms of attacking runs and crossing – as well as being an option for any dangerous freekick situations. Henderson’s suspension means he will miss this one, and a solid game from Fabinho in the derby would mean that there would be a healthy competition for the starting spot in the six. The Brazilian has shown glimpses of how he can influence a game with his tackling ability. Other than his game against Arsenal, he’s looked assured overall. The two central midfield spots is where there are no guaranteed starters. Like Fabinho, Keita has shown glimpses of his potential before his injury – particularly in some of the earlier games of the season. A game in the Merseyside derby would only benefit the new players in their adaptation to the intensity of the Premier League. As usual, despite lacking in creativity during midweek, the front three remains unchanged. Liverpool will be up against a tactically astute Everton side under Marco Silva who often can be difficult to breakdown. However, if the Reds can score in the first half, we could see the reaction everyone has been waiting for. Score Prediction: Liverpool 4 – 0 Everton
