And suddenly, Liverpool are challenging for the double.
The chance to go back to the top of the Premier League is the perfect way to put the pressure onto Manchester City. However, last time out against Fulham at Anfield was not the most convincing performance – we can’t underestimate them; much like we can’t take Porto lightly.
Players are starting to return from injury while others hit form. Could Salah’s outside of the foot pass be the trigger for an unstoppable end to the season? If Messi assisted that goal on Wednesday, there would be viral gifs posted everywhere.
The game against Fulham is the last before a good break, which means we can play a strong team. Here’s how I think we should line up:

The back five must remain the same. It almost feels like we’ve overlooked Matip in recent months – he was class when he first signed for us and is shining alongside van Dijk. The return of Lovren and Gomez will be a good problem to have for Jurgen Klopp.
In midfield, we shouldn’t make too many changes. It’s uncertain whether Keita is fully fit – which means Adam Lallana comes back in for the Premier League game. Milner retains his place in the side with this being a good opportunity to rest Gini who has played a lot recently and has two games with Holland coming up.
It’s a matter of momentum in attack. Now would be the perfect time for our front three to come into their peak for the season. Mane is being Mane; his form and ridiculous consistency is nothing new. Firmino and Salah, though, have another couple of gears in them.
Fulham have conceded 68 goals this season, which indicates there will be plenty of chances for the Reds at Craven Cottage. Take our chances, win the game. Klopp won’t allow any room for complacency.
Score prediction: Fulham 0 – 4 Liverpool
