Starting XI: How should Liverpool line up against Leicester

Article by Adam Brown @AdamMNVi Liverpool could normally take confidence from Leicester’s last game in the Premier League where they conceded four goals in a defeat to Wolves, but Jurgen Klopp must ensure that nothing is taken for granted for the remainder of this title race. Interestingly, City played the night before – in a game where Rafa Benitez could damage Guardiola’s title hopes. For Liverpool, this could either mean added pressure from going into the game against the Foxes with just a one-point gap, or an opportunity to extend the lead at the top of the table. (Hopefully it’s the latter by the time you’re reading this) Regardless of the possibilities and variables, we can’t forget that we are up against a side who are competent at taking points off the top teams. If Liverpool are as sloppy defensively as against Palace, there’s no guarantee that we will be able to come away with the win. Klopp will undoubtedly have highlighted the woeful moment of pressing which lead to us going 1-0 down. If anything, the last game should have renewed focus at Melwood. Dejan Lovren is back in full training, which should mean that he is available to return – a much-needed reinforcement to a depleted defence. Given that there is still a degree of uncertainty on Trent’s readiness and Milner’s red card, Klopp must decide between Camacho and Fabinho at right-back (Ideally, this would have just been where Nathaniel Clyne would have come in). The Brazilian is the best option for now. Henderson’s recent performances have been promising, which means that he keeps his place alongside Keita, who shouldn’t be judged too harshly from his performances on the left flank – he’s already shown this season how effective he can be from central areas. With a lack of pace at centre-half, Mo Salah could be a key option up front in this game – allowing Firmino to roam from the 10, where he will be able to have a much bigger influence on the game. Shaqiri and Mane complete the lineup. Similarly, with the suggested approach against Palace, it’s important that we show an element of control in this game. At some point, we will create the right situation where our attacking players can isolate defenders. Despite our injuries, our back four is still reasonably settled – with Robertson, van Dijk and Lovren playing plenty of games this season. Score Prediction: Liverpool 3 – 0 Leicester CityScorers: Salah, Firmino, KeitaArticle by Adam Brown @AdamMNVi How does Chris think that Jurgen Klopp will select the side?
