By Adam Brown (@AdamMNVi)It’s not clear what’s going on with Liverpool domestically, but a tie in Europe offers some respite from a stretch of games in the Premier League that seems alien to the squad on paper.A European run is the only thing left for Klopp’s side with a place in the top four looking out of Liverpool’s hands. The Reds looked back to their best in the first leg after a comfortable 2-0 win against a dangerous Leipzig side, but like many others, the game proved to be a false dawn with so many desperate for Liverpool’s form to find consistency.
Here’s how we should line up:A rest for Trent Alexander-Arnold at the weekend means the star fullback can return on Wednesday night. Kostas Tsimikas comes in at left-back with Robertson playing a high volume of minutes recently, while Nat Phillips should continue at centre-half. If Ozan Kabak isn’t fit for Wednesday then Ben Davies should make his debut.Naby Keita shined on Sunday amidst a gloomy Liverpool performance, but Klopp should look to protect the Guinean – it may be too soon to play two games in four days. Fabinho comes into the six to protect a young backline while Curtis Jones and Thiago return and will hopefully provide a repeat performance from the first leg.One of the most reassuring factors of the Reds’ current spell is that the squad is still very strong. No rebuild will take too long – it could be a matter of one or two signings in the attack.Diogo Jota must be managed carefully with a game against Wolves on the horizon. Work-rate will be vital for this game with Leipzig needing at least two away goals to have any chance of going through. Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Divock Origi should be fresh to play this one from the start with Jota and Salah available to come on if things go wrong.Julian Nagelsmann has struggled against Klopp in recent times which should bode well for Liverpool’s chances of progressing, but the Bundesliga side will come with much more intensity this time around.Score prediction: Liverpool 2-1 LeipzigBy Adam Brown (@AdamMNVi)
