By Adam Brown @AdamMNViThe end of a lengthy international break means it is time for the return of Premier League football. The campaign recommences with Liverpool eight points ahead at the top of the Premier League table after a James Milner penalty and heroics at the Etihad from Adama Traore.United’s squad is arguably in the worst state in the past 20 years after numerous failed signings and a team made up of players which wouldn’t get near a Jurgen Klopp XI.That said, this will be the one game which they turn up for, we can’t be fooled by their poor form.
Here’s how we should line up:Alisson returns to the side. It’s difficult to think of a better back up Liverpool goalkeeper than Adrian – barring the Southampton mistake and minor distribution errors, the Spaniard made countless big saves in key moments.Another return sees Joel Matip come back into the XI after recovering and training this week. The most consistent back four from last season is back. The midfield from the Leicester game remains the same. James Milner’s inclusion in both the XI article and squad received some interesting comments, but the veteran’s performance showed exactly why the Leeds man must play in high-pressure games where Liverpool are expected to win. It’s going to be difficult for players to outperform Fabinho and Wijnaldum. Both have taken their game to a new level this season and continue to shine. The front three remains the same. The Reds didn’t show up in this fixture last season; it’s time to put things right and make a statement with a strong performance on Sunday. United will fight more than usual but quality should prevail.
