Aside from Jordan Henderson’s red card, Liverpool’s performance at Vicarage Road was almost perfect. Tonight in Paris, however, is a totally different challenge.

No one is expecting Thomas Tuchel to park the bus in a game where the Parisians must get a result from, particularly not with Neymar and Mbappe both training on Tuesday.

A win for Liverpool would guarantee qualification to the next stage with a game against Napoli to spare. With that in mind, there’s no reason to be pragmatic at the Parc des Princes.

While there is always a degree of uneasiness when making a change to the back four, it’s important to take into account the performance of Joe Gomez in the previous match against PSG.

With the Parisiens having such pace up front, it’s important that we’re able to counter that without setting our line too deep to invite pressure; Liverpool’s 21-year-old defender is the ideal solution.

Fabinho is likely to start from the six in the derby, so it’s vital he can get some minutes against a top side to keep sharp. It will be interesting to see how the Brazilian links up with Naby Keita, who is reported to have been looking strong in training, suggesting that Klopp may be planning to start the Guinean maestro.

There were reports that Sadio Mane has been ill recently, but with this being such an important game and the winger being able to train, we need to ensure that our strongest front three are starting on Wednesday night.

PSG haven’t looked that strong in the Champions League this season, with their most comfortable win coming in an alleged betting scandal. It’s difficult to see how they can stop us from scoring, and, with the French side requiring a result from this one, there should be plenty of gaps for Klopp’s attack to exploit on the break.

Score Prediction: PSG 1 – 2 Liverpool

Goals: Firmino, Mane.
