Are Liverpool peaking at the right time? Champions always peak late; the ending to this season is shaping up to be one of the Reds’ most memorable of all-time.

A 2-0 cushion should be enough for Liverpool to qualify. An away goal would mean that Porto need to score four, and the Portuguese side will have a difficult time in overcoming a two-goal deficit while stopping our attack at the same time.

There’s an opportunity to rest a couple of key players for this one and we should take it – Firmino and Mane could benefit from a rest with a hectic end to the season on the horizon.

Here’s how I think we should line-up:

As this is a game we need to control and pick our opportunity, Gini comes in for Keita who has had a great run in the side. Our depth this year means that Klopp can pick players based on how we need to approach each game.

Jurgen assured fans that Henderson only suffered a knock vs Chelsea, which means he should maintain his place in the side for this one, the captain is silencing the doubters every week – what an assist against Chelsea to get us underway.

Upfront is where we should look to rest Firmino and Mane. Origi and Shaqiri will benefit from space left by an attacking Porto side where they can profit playing alongside Mo Salah. Will we get another chance to rest key players? Take the opportunity now.

It’s difficult to see how the Dragons can win this tie. Europe’s elite can’t win a shoot-out against Liverpool so there’s no way Porto can – especially when already behind by two goals. The Reds’ midfield will control the game and weather the early storm, and while the Portuguese side are capable of troubling us, it’s only a matter of time before we score.

Score Prediction: Porto 1 – 3 Liverpool
