Article by Adam Brown @AdamMNVi Off the back of a 1-1 draw against Arsenal which has sent some parts of LFC twitter into meltdown, it’s a quick turn around for Jurgen Klopp and the Reds as Liverpool head to Belgrade to take on Red Star. It was confirmed that Xherdan Shaqiri will be left at home for this one for political reasons – Klopp’s right; it’s not worth the hassle. It also gives an opportunity to the likes of Adam Lallana who are in need of match fitness. While the Serbian fans will undoubtedly create a fierce atmosphere, there’s no reason why Liverpool can’t comfortably win this one, strengthening the hold on the group’s top spot. Don’t forget this game this kicks off at 17:55pm (GMT) Formation: 4-2-3-1 Despite a poor performance against Arsenal, Tuesday is a chance for Trent to play himself back into contention for a place in the starting XI. Had this been a Premier League fixture, Joe Gomez would be preferred at fullback alongside Lovren and van Dijk. Likewise, Fabinho looked uncomfortable against Arsenal, a game that will be a learning curve for the Brazilian who is still adapting to the Premier League. Last time out against Red Star, Fabinho was impeccable. He has the opportunity to forget his bad game at the weekend with a solid showing on Tuesday night. With Shaqiri confirmed out, Lallana can only benefit from more game time. The former Southampton man has come under some criticism from fans over his recent performances, but he needs time to recapture his sharpness – especially when playing in a demanding Klopp system. Elsewhere, Roberto Firmino could dominate this game from the 10. He’s a different class to Belgrade and could benefit by having more freedom behind Daniel Sturridge. A hat-trick of assists incoming from Bobby. Prediction: Red Star Belgrade 0 – 3 LiverpoolHow does Paul think that Jurgen Klopp will select the side? Check out the Starting XI Prediction Show below.
