By Adam Brown @AdamMNViAfter defeat in Naples the Reds must take on Austrian side, Salzburg who dispatched Genk with considerable ease last time out. It’s an interesting tie as Naby Keita and Sadio Mane come up against the club who helped propel them into European football. With such stars coming through their ranks it’s clear that Salzburg aren’t a team who Liverpool will ease past tonight. While it’s a game The Reds expect to win, it’s an opportunity to rest Roberto Firmino with a focus on prioritising the league title chase. A strong side will start with one or two changes to the side that face Sheffield United at the weekend.
Here’s how we should line up:Adrian maintains his place behind the same back four. There was an argument for Gomez to start over Trent away at Napoli but at home, Liverpool will be expected to take the game to Salzburg where Trent is a constant threat from the right flank.Fabinho maintains his place behind Naby Keita and James Milner who should have more than enough quality to see off Salzburg.Origi comes into the line up alongside Salah from the nine with Mane out wide. Given Firmino’s importance, the Brazilian is a player who Klopp should only use if necessary when not playing in the Premier League. The title has to be our priority this season after such a positive start, but it is a strong line up regardless with respect for Salzburg who will be enthusiastic on their visit to Anfield. The Austrians will likely match Liverpool for the opening 25 but it’s difficult to see how their defence can keep out the quality of the Reds attack. A goal before half time should see Liverpool secure the three points in the second half.Score prediction: Liverpool 2 – 0 Salzburg How does Paul think Liverpool will line up tonight?
