For some players, this is their chance to prove that they deserve to be in and around the starting XI. Of course, that’s difficult for some positions when trying to get a place ahead of Andy Robertson or Alisson, but players can also show that they can be relied on when called upon. In the midst of a tough schedule, this is probably the only opportunity for Jurgen Klopp to rotate the squad. What’s promising for Liverpool fans, is that despite the squad being rotated, it’s still fairly strong, and more than capable of getting the result against Chelsea; a sign of the strength in depth we have acquired. If Fabinho doesn’t start this game, then it’s tough to see when he will feature – it’s time to unleash the Brazilian defensive midfielder. Finally, perhaps the man who is most deserving of a start after his performance on Saturday, Xherdan Shaqiri.
