As Liverpool prepares for one of the biggest clashes of the season, against Manchester United, only three games in, the excitement building up is tense.
This historic rivalry always delivers intense drama, with both teams under pressure to perform.
Ahead of the clash, we interviewed Beth Tucker, a well-known figure from the United Stand and a passionate Man United supporter.
On the mood that surrounded Eric Ten Hag, Beth revealed that, at the start of the season, optimism was widespread among Man United’s fans, saying “the mood was brilliant among the fanbase” after a successful transfer window and the addition of new coaching staff.
Many fans were happy with Ten Hag until the disappointing performance against Brighton, which put the manager’s future, once again, under speculation.

Beth expressed frustration with Ten Hag’s team selections and substitutions saying that “he threw it” which caused doubts to creep in as fans realised this season could make or break him.
Looking ahead to the weekend, all eyes are on the managerial battle, as Slot faces his first real test in the Premier League, as new Liverpool boss, and Ten Hag is in the hot seat, under pressure to deliver results and prove that his project is still on course.
One of the key talking points surrounding Man United has been the integration of new signings, particularly Manuel Ugarte.
Beth would prefer to see Ugarte start, arguing that “they need energy in midfield” after Casemiro’s inconsistent performances last season, but acknowledges Ten Hag’s reluctance to throw new players straight into the lineup.
On the transfer window, Beth also voiced her concerns as they haven’t brought in any proven goal scorers and believes that the team is missing a needle-moving signing that will elevate them to compete with the likes of Liverpool, Man City and Arsenal.

Due to the long list of injury problems for Manchester United, including Mount, Shaw, Malacia, Lindelof, and Hojlund, Beth expects Ten Hag to adopt a cautious approach against Liverpool.
She anticipates a more reserved strategy, with United likely to “go behind the ball and have a good shape behind them” aiming to avoid a heavy defeat at home.
United is not at the point where they can ‘fight fire with fire’ but as Beth never predicts a loss for her team, she gave a brave scoreline of 2-1 to the Devils.
However, Liverpool’s vice-captain and scouser, Trent Alexander-Arnold, told reporters that the form book goes out the window and it is down to whoever wants it more on the day.

This winning mentality is a gift to Liverpool’s players as well as fans, and although we are away from home, these boys are looking sharp and can use Sunday to set a precedent for the rest of the season.
Hopefully, we can capitalise on the injury woes and secure a crucial victory. With Slot’s boys in promising form, and the new away kit looking fresh, there is a strong belief that Liverpool will just do it!
