Liverpool are eyeing possible alternatives to Xabi Alonso in their managerial pursuit according to journalist Gianluigi Longari who has claimed that “the name of Ruben Amorim currently managing Sporting stands out”.
With Liverpool on the search for a new manager after Jurgen Klopp announced he would leave at the end of the season and not see the rest of his contract out; the Reds have options available and Amorim is supposedly one of the alternatives, but Liverpool are not the only team interested.
Manchester United were previously linked, however, more recently due to the form of Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea side, they are also reportedly keen to swoop in if Amorim is intrigued in taking the role at Stamford Bridge.

Described as ‘one of the best’ coaches around by Man City boss Pep Guardiola, it’s no surprise that clubs would be taking an interest in the exploits of Amorim.
Despite his tender years the Portuguese manager already garners respect and looks primed to move into the elite bracket of coaches over the coming seasons.
Whether the Reds are willing to overlook the sentiment of a move for Alonso in favour of a move for Amorin however, remains to be seen.
