Having endured a whole three weeks without a signing, suddenly the Reds appear to have have no signs of stopping when it comes to bringing in new players for the upcoming season.
This week, Dan was joined by esteemed Bundesliga broadcaster, Kevin Hatchard (@kevinhatchard) to talk about Liverpool’s newest signing, Hungarian international centre midfielder, Dominik Szloboszlai.
The exciting 22-year-old had an impressive 23 G/A throughout last year’s campaign for RB Leipzig and it’s safe to say that there’s some excitement around the capture.
German Football Expert On ‘Outrageous’ Dominik Szoboszlai!
Kevin said:
“He’s always trying to affect the game positively. There are edges to smooth, but I like him very much.
“He’s the kind of player that under Jurgen Klopp can improve. He’s halfway between a 10 and an 8. If he works on [his] defensive side, I think there’s something very special there.
“I think he’s got enormous potential. In the right half-space is where he does his best work. He never hides, [he] wants to try and get on the ball, wants to make things happen. He’s always trying to have a shot himself or create a shooting opportunity for somebody else.
“He’s not somebody who’s going to weave through four or five players all the time, but he could beat a lot of players with good delivery.”

Redmen Reacts
When asked if Dominik in his current form would’ve improved LFC’s title-winning midfield, Kevin responded with, “I think that’s fair. If you dropped him into the squad, [he’s] a great option to have.”
That in itself is a very exciting proposition for Liverpool fans and the Anfield faithful can rightfully start to get optimistic about what could come next season from the Hungarian ace.
Overall, the Reds seem like they have quite the player on their hands. He may be a little raw due to his age, but once Klopp gets his hands on the player, he will be very fun to watch.
