RUNDOWN OF THIS WEEK’s TOPICS
News In Brief:
Emre Can to Juventus.
A face to face to look into each other’s eyes and tell the truth. Once and for all. Juventus do not intend to participate in auctions for Emre Can and want to drive away any doubt as soon as possible, perhaps closing the appointment with the fateful (and sighed) signatures.
Winter Break
Under the plan, the fifth round of the FA Cup would be played entirely in the middle of the week and without replays. As The Times previously revealed, the break would be staggered, with five Premier League matches taking place on one weekend and five on another.
Jorginho linked – DM – Napoli
A defensive midfielder in the traditional sense but with a touch of creativity about him, as well. He gets across the pitch quickly and shields the back four, averaging two successful tackles per game, but also steps forward and looks to operate in advanced areas against deep defences – With 32 key passes this season, he is the most creative player outside of the club’s establishing attacking quartet (Lorenzo Insigne, Dries Mertens, Jose Callejon and Marek Hamsik).
Allison Talks Progress – Brazilian Media
Liverpool are facing competition from both Chelsea and Manchester United for the signature of Roma goalkeeper Alisson. The Mirror reports that Alisson, who has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield, has been earmarked by both clubs as a possible target.
