Liverpool has been a hive of activity already this summer with incomings and outgoings aplenty; however, it looks as though there could still be more business to be done before the September 1 deadline passes.

In a recent interview for Betway, esteemed football journalist Rudy Galetti was asked about the future of one top target as well as a couple of Anfield favourites.

Q. Liverpool have now sold Darwin Nunez and have seen a bid rejected by Newcastle for Alexander Isak. Can we expect Liverpool to continue their pursuit of the Swedish international?

A. “Yes, absolutely, Liverpool remain very interested in Alexander Isak after selling Darwin Nunez.

“Liverpool are willing and ready to increase their bid to make a new offer, but they want to be sure that Newcastle, in this case, will be open to discussing possible terms of a possible agreement.

“They don’t want to receive another quick rejection of their offer. They want to create a ground for dialogue to discuss terms and conditions for a possible deal.

“Liverpool at this stage, are waiting for a clear signal from Newcastle that they are ready to properly discuss and go ahead about the terms and conditions of a possible deal. Only then will they submit a new and improved offer.

“They have also internally discussed this scenario and are ready to submit a new offer whenever Newcastle make a clear signal about a possible discussion for a possible deal.

“Obviously, Isak, for his part, is still pushing for this transfer. Liverpool is a great opportunity for his career, so he wants the move, but the situation is still fluid

“Both sides have to find common ground to finalise this possible deal. Liverpool are there and are waiting for a signal from Newcastle to make the next move.”

Q. Nottingham Forest have been linked with a move for Liverpool’s Kostas Tsimikas. What is the latest on the Greek international’s future?

A. “Konstantinos Tsimikas is widely expected to leave Liverpool this summer, especially after the arrival of Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth.

“Nottingham Forest have expressed a serious interest in the Greek left back, but they are not alone, as Leeds and Wolves have also recently made enquiries about him, gathering fresh information on the possibility of a transfer.

“From his part, Tsimikas has struggled for regular game time due to increased competition in his position, so a move looks likely to happen in the next few days, for sure by the end of the transfer window.

“He wants more minutes and a fresh start in a new club. That said, as of now, no advanced negotiations have taken place, and his next destination remains open.

“We should expect more clarity on this future, as I told you before, in the coming weeks, as Liverpool and the interested clubs continue discussions.”

Are we Worried about Manchester City?

Q. Are West Ham competing with RB Leipzig for Harvey Elliott’s future? Or is he likely to remain at Liverpool this summer?

A. “At the moment, RB Leipzig remain genuinely interested in Harvey Elliott as a potential replacement for Xavi Simons if he leaves by the end of the transfer window.

“West Ham, on the other hand, have been admirers of Elliott for quite some time and have shown clear interest in him, but they are hesitant about his £40 million valuation.

“West Ham are also currently exploring the possibility of a loan deal with an option to buy, which should make the deal easier.

“But, in this moment, Liverpool would prefer a different kind of agreement. They would like a permanent transfer rather than just a loan deal. In this case, all possibilities are open. There are no advanced talks or offers on the table, so the future of Harvey Elliott is yet to be decided.

“West Ham are definitely in the mix, but I would say Leipzig are the more interested club in his services, and that would be a permanent move to replace Simons.

“It’s a developing situation; it’ll come down to Liverpool’s stance on the deal and where the player would prefer to play. As I said, it’s a developing transfer, so it’s one to keep an eye on as his future is decided.”
