Liverpool gets an away victory over Wolves thanks to a Diogo Jota goal.
Another clean sheet in the bag and the partnership of Nat Phillips and Ozan Kabak seems to be going well so far. They’ve had a couple of games together now and that is what is needed for the remainder of the season, a back five that is consistent game after game. Phillips again heading everything that came his way and I thought Kabak had a decent game tonight too which will do wonders for his confidence.
Trent Alexander-Arnold had a very impressive game this evening. We know how much he offers going forward but I thought defensively tonight he was great and was switched on for the full game and in some crucial moments too.
Fabinho had a quiet game this evening, didn’t really get involved in too much but was still pretty consistent in being able to mop anything up. Thiago was lively once again and got himself involved in pretty much everything happening in the game, he just needs to calm it down a bit when trying to win the ball back in terms of nipping at players and giving fouls away.
The forward three looked lively for a good portion of the game, Sadio Mane should have had two after his 1v1 with the goalkeeper and his header later on in the match. He ended his goal drought against Leipzig but he could do with grabbing a few more goals in the next match to build his confidence even more. Mo Salah looked lively too but he seemed to drop off in the second half. I think the introduction of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was great, he brought a new bit of energy into the game and him and Salah linked up for a goal that was called for offside but that’s a glimpse of what can happen between those two as we’ve seen in previous seasons.
Fingers crossed for Rui Patricio, hopefully, it isn’t as serious as it looked and he makes a full and speedy recovery.

The forward comes back to haunt his former side and it was a great goal from the Portuguese. Whenever Sadio Mane, Mo Salah, and Jota play together they seem to have a great understanding and just play with a good amount of fluidity and that goal proved it. All three of them combining together in a fast-paced move which caught Wolves out, the keeper could probably do better at his near post but the curve of the shot maybe wrong-footed him for a second.
Diogo Jota was a huge miss for Liverpool in the few months that he was out and the Reds really missed a dynamic forward player like him in a lot of games so it’s great to have him back in the side and back scoring goals.
A Nice Break
Our next game isn’t until the 4th of April and it’s Arsenal away. This break will be a good reset for the squad and a time for them to reflect on everything they have done wrong but also everything they have done right. Hopefully there is no injuries away on international duty!
