Liverpool head into Christmas at the top of the Premier League table and life couldn’t be better. Apart from my hangover, that could be better.

‘He’s Virgil Van Dijk he’s Virgil Van Dijk’

It is mad to think that his goal this evening was his first Premier League goal for the club, I thought he would have bagged a few more in his Liverpool career by now but as long as he keeps the clean sheets I don’t mind.

I could go on and on about how good Virgil Van Dijk is and I think everyone would happily read/listen to it but I can’t even explain how important he is to us. It was mentioned in a post-match interview that he has had four different center-back partners and he has been able to play with every single one of them and that shows his talent, he can just adapt to any situation he is in and he is a threat at the opposite end of the pitch too.

That Man Mo

A goal and an assist for the Egyptian tonight, not bad ey.

He could have had a hat-trick tonight with the number of opportunities he created for himself but I’m sure he will be happy he got on the scoresheet. This man just gets better and better for me and although he had a nervy start to the season he has shown his quality and he is a real asset to us.

Playing upfront over the last couple of matches have really given him the confidence boost that he needed and he has taken the opportunity well and scored his 11th Premier League goal for the season.

Top Of The Table

Top of the table at Christmas and you couldn’t ask for anything more!

Still unbeaten in the league too which is crazy to think but I honestly can’t even think about us losing a game at the minute because of how important it is to stay ahead of Man City and keep the pressure on them because they now have to go out tomorrow and win the game to still be on our tails so fingers crossed good ole Roy does us a favour there.

It is also nice to see players like Fabinho getting into their stride, another assist for him tonight and he has played brilliantly over the last few matches.

Hoping that Naby Keita injury isn’t too bad and that he will be back for the New Year, it would be best for him to miss boxing day and let Shaqiri or Lallana have some more minutes.

Merry Christmas!
