Lionesses To Donate To #PlayersTogetherFundThe England Women’s Lionesses squad has announced they are donating to the #PlayersTogetherFund. The Lionesses made the announcement to donate to the initiative – #PlayersTogether – on their personal social media accounts, led by captain Steph Houghton on Tuesday evening at 7 pm. The fund was established after meetings between Premier League players to discuss the best way to support NHS and other frontline staff through the coronavirus crisis.ImageA statement read “After discussion with a number of Premier League players, we are delighted to confirm that the whole of the Lionesses squad will make a collective donation to the #PlayersTogether fund partnering with NHS Charities Together, in unison with the Premier League players in order to support the amazing NHS”“Stay home, protect the NHS. Save Lives”.The fund was established by Premier League players including Jordan Henderson and Harry Maguire in the wake of widespread criticism of the perceived inaction of top stars. The Premier League’s initial proposal for a 30% wage cut was dismissed by players, who wished to ensure any contribution would go directly to NHS staff. The fund’s contributions will be managed in conjunction with the umbrella group of NHS charities, NHS Charities Together.By Josh Bunting – @Buntingfootball

Manchester City Player Signs New DealManchester City have announced that Canadian international Janine Beckie has extended her contract at the club until 2022.Beckie who has made 46 appearances for City has shown her versatility on many occasions as she’s played on both wings and has also filled in at right-back in the absence of Aoife Mannion who suffered a long-term injury. Beckie helped her side win a domestic cup double in her first season as City picked up the Continental Cup after a penalty shootout victory over Arsenal and the FA Cup following a 3-0 win over West Ham United. She has scored 13 times in her time at the club so far and also helped Canada reach the last 16 of the Women’s World Cup in France before losing 1-0 to Sweden. Beckie follows Steph Houghton, Caroline Weir, Lauren Hemp, Kiera Walsh and Jess Park in committing her future to the club.Janine Beckie extends contract with Manchester City Women - SheKicksSpeaking to the club website on her new contact the 25 year old said “I am absolutely delighted to be extending my time here at City. The last two years have been more than I could have imagined and after the progress and memories I have made so far, there was no doubt when it came to making the decision to re-sign.”City’s head of women’s football, Gavin Makel, added: “I am delighted that Janine has committed her future to the club. “She represents everything that we are about – a player who has the desire to win and improve, whilst always putting the team’s needs above her own.”There’s no doubt that Janine will continue to get better and better as she has done over the last couple of years.By Josh Bunting – @Buntingfootball Lyon Lose Two Key Players Reports this week on Twitter and other online sources are stating that Lyon is set to lose out on goalkeeper Sarah Bouhaddi and midfielder Dzsenifer Marozsán who are both out of contract come the summer. It is being reported that both of them will be heading over to the United States to play for Utah Royals in the NWSL.Boudhaddi has played for Lyon since 2009 and has been a part of the French national tea since 2004 so this is a big step for the 33-year-old goalkeeper. Marozsan has been with Lyon since 2016 with the German International playing previously for Frankfurt. Both players will add to the Utah roster with them losing some key figures in their team with defender Becky Sauerbraun leaving the Royals and heading to the Portland Thorns.Due to the current Coronavirus pandemic, no one knows when the footballing season will start again so it unlikely that teams will make announcements on player transfers any time soon.By Lauren Black – @Lauren_Black9 Subscribe to The Redmen TV Womens YouTube Channel! –
