In recent years, Liverpool’s academy has produced a number of players who have made it into Jurgen Klopp’s squad. Trent Alexander-Arnold is the obvious standout, but the likes of Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliot and Stefan Bajcetic have all made significant impacts on the first team.
With the Reds’ pre-season beginning in July, a few youngsters will hope to catch the German’s eye for his future plans and the possible upcoming season. Whether it be on loan or at Liverpool, it will be interesting to see which starlet makes significant strides in their development.
On the latest show of Expert Insight, Dan Clubbe spoke to Liverpool.com Editor, Matt Addison to get the inside scoop on the four most exciting young talents Liverpool have to offer this coming season.

When asked about those fans should keep an eye on, Matt said:
“I mean the obvious answer is Ben Doak, isn’t it? That’s the one I think is most likely. Of the other players we have talked about, there are four really, Ben Doak is one of them. Kaide Gordon, injury dependant and how he comes back I think comes into a similar category.
“Bobby Clark, I just love watching him, I don’t know what it is about him he’s just got that kind of ability you just love to watch. The close control, the little sort of dribbles escaping from the tight areas. If he could go out on loan and maybe impress in the Championship, that wouldn’t massively surprise me. Stylistically, I’m obviously not comparing in terms of levels, but a Mason Mount type of player. You know in terms of playing that little bit higher in midfield and having an influence in that final third but also being really adept in pressing and that sort of thing. He obviously went to Derby and did well at that level, maybe a similar sort of thing can happen for him. He’s the type of player you can see going on and excelling.
“Luke Chambers would be the other one. Those are the four really that you’d look at and think either at Liverpool or possibly if they get the loans spell right next season they can make big strides. Of all of these names, those are the four really most likely to make it at Liverpool long term. They are worth keeping an eye on.”
Redmen Reacts
Of the four mentioned, Ben Doak seems like the player most likely to make the jump to first-team football this season. With Kaide Gordon injured and potentially not returning as the same player the Scottish youngster looks set to become the Reds sixth choice forward. Gordon looked primed to become part of the first team setup but injuries may now have seen Doak replace him.
Clark could potentially be sent out on loan which should help his transition into men’s football. For Liverpool, they have to ensure the players get the right loan moves in order to reap the benefits in the future.
Left-back Luke Chambers has just returned from a loan spell from Kilmarnock. The 18-year-old could find himself in Jurgen Klopp’s plans sooner rather than later as Andy Robertson gets older and the future of Kostas Tsimikas is up in the air. For the upcoming season, another loan move, possibly to the Championship has to be sealed. He can continue to get minutes and develop. However, should Liverpool stick with the 3-2-5 formation in possession then he will have to adapt his game in order to be considered as an option.
