HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHA as if we won that.

We were terrible for large periods of that game. Well, our finishing was. Our final ball was. Our decision making was.

You know what wasn’t a bad decision though? Playing Divock Origi. What an absolute legend that man is.

The squad depth whinge bags will be hurting tonight!

It looked like ‘one of them’ another game where we didn’t capitalise on a title rival dropping points. My mood was on the floor, I was lambasting Jota, fuming at anyone and everyone.

What was I worried about, that was up there with Aston Villa of a few years back.

I’ll also say this, because I think it goes under the radar somewhat. Wolves are really well organised, they play five at the back, they soak up pressure. Football isn’t as easy as we all think. As frustrating as we were at times, it’s ok to give the opposition a little bit of credit too.

Despite my jubilant mood, I think I’ve remained level headed here.

Let me know what you think.

Alisson  – 7

Tell you what, that save in the second half, which I think is just before Jota’s miss is unreal. Not only does he save it, he bloody catches it!! Had one other moment where he looked indecisive but not much to do besides that.

Trent – 7

Can probably copy and paste this for a lot of the lads but it is what it is. Intent was there, desire was there but you can also see his creation was there too. He still contributed to four key passes during that game. It’s just the decision beyond him wasn’t there.

Van Dijk – 7

Dealt with most things pretty well. Didn’t take a random free kick which is an improvement. Had one moment in which I think he tried to be a little too clever when taking on Traoré. He played a huge part in the build up which led to the goal though!

Matip – 8

One day he will go on one of those runs, beat everyone and stick it in the back of the net. Defensively I thought he was brilliant. The odd moment in which Wolves did want to attack he was calm as per. Gets points for pressing the left back too hahahaha.

Robbo – 7

Provided energy and impetus into attacks in which we lacked in other areas of the field. Some of the give and go’s were a joy to watch. If only he could shoot.

Fabinho – 8

Might go under the radar but I’ll just repeat it for those at the back. The positioning of this man is sublime. It might look easy, it might look simple but the way he reads the game and picks apart and stifles attacks is wonderful. Gets points for the tactical foul too.

Thiago – 7.5

Plenty of touches and plenty of involvement in the game, not all positive but he was busy buzzing about in both halves during the game. Needed that bit of quality from him but it’s alright, we have Divock Origi.

Hendo – 6

55 touches in 70 minutes of football isn’t a lot for one of our midfielders really. A bit of a mad one for everyone really. Passing and link up play really good at times, sloppy on others. No stand out moments.

Salah – 7

Some great moments of trying to supply Mané and a few others to join the attacks but can’t remember him having a shot on target. Says it all really. OHH HE GOT AN ASSIST!!! GET INNN!

Mane –  5

A mixture of poor touches, poor passing and moments in which he was just unlucky/hard lines. All the build up was great but the final ball or decision making wasn’t. Keeper made a great save to deny him late on, maybe a five is harsh.

Jota – 6

How’s he missed that?! 5 yards out, two massive gaps either side of the defenders and he smacks is straight at Connor Coady’s Christmas baubles. Felt like he got caught up in a personal vendetta at times to score when he had other options. Happy birthday though, lad.

Subs

Origi – 10

OH MY GOD. OH MY GOD. Never ever, ever, will I say a bad word about this man ever again. We couldn’t find the net, no one could beat the keeper. In a time of need, in a time of ‘we need a goal’ who do you call? ORIGI!

Ox– N/A

Only played ten minutes.

Milner – N/A

Only played two mins.
