Well, well, well. You think you would be used to shitting out a 2-1 by now but it doesn’t make it any easier to watch does it. Again not at our best in terms of chances created or fluidity but we’ve just had another pointless international break. And we won. And we are still unbeaten. And we are 8 points clear still. So who gives a fuck. Up the Reds! Alisson – 7 7 might be too much, might not be enough. He was relatively quiet to be honest but you can always count on his distribution and composure to remain calm. Couldn’t have done much for their goal. Trent – 7.5 Had to contend with Zaha which is no easy feat. Played some delicious balls switching to Robbo and covered the back line on numerous occasions. Silly to giveaway a free kick for their goal but it was soft for the ref to give. Lovren  – 7 Sound for me for large parts. Went AWOL at one point and not entirely sure he was doing in midfield but other than that he won the foul to have their first goal disallowed. Gets done easily in the build up to their goal. van Dijk – 7.5 Another solid from Virgil in my opinion. Won 5 out 8 aerial duels and 2 out of 3 ground duels. Never afraid to put his body on the line and I’m pretty sure he’s unbreakable. Plays a key role in getting Liverpool’s winner before it pinballs to Bobby’s feet. Robertson – 7 Relentless Robbo again. Hard lines to get done by Zaha after he dropped the shoulder. You could argue he should do better but defensively we were all over the place there. Bang him down an assist there too. Fabinho – 7.5 Got himself booked and misses the Brighton game. Great time to do his Xmas shopping to be honest. Not too busy and not too early. Impressive defensively even after being booked he still made bog tackles. His passing is also a joy to watch, found Mané with some delightful balls time and time again.

Gini – 6.5 Not a poor performance from Gini but not the best first half from anyone there. Always shouts of him going missing but I think for the likes of him and Hendo they fall foul of not being dangerous in possession. However, to press constantly for that amount of time and to protect the ball he deserves credit. Hendo – 6.5 Could probably copy and paste from Gini really. Overlapping going forward and tracking back to build up numbers to restrict chances from Townsend, Zaha and many others towards the end. Ox – 6.5 Poor first half, like many others. Looked like he was caught in two minds where he was supposed to be positionally. Much better second half, those penetrating driving runs are where he can really hurt people and where he thrives on the field. Bobby – 7 Honestly wasn’t his best performance, the front three hardly got involved, particularly in the first half. But also honestly, who cares. He was there when it mattered, putting the ball past a crowd of bodies to seal the three points for the reds! Mane – 8 Arguably our best player today. Maybe with van Dijk. But his hold up play, making runs in behind, being a constant threat like he usually is and his desire to never give up and drag this Liverpool side going forward does not go unnoticed. Should have scored earlier but we will let him off, won’t we?
Subs Origi – 6 Got tackled by two Palace players and they both got injured. Fucking hell. HAHAHA Milner – 6 Brought on for composure but didn’t do anything of note. Gomez – N/A Was only on a matter of minutes. Good to see him take to the field after being booed during the international break. VAR – 10 Because why the fuck not. Let me know your thoughts on the game below! Ross – @rossic89
